Walking Towards Peace

Behind the Scenes Filming in Pennsylvania woods

WATCH THE TRAILER

After serving three tours in the 75th Ranger Regiment, Travis Johnston returned home to find himself struggling with the trauma of war in a civilian environment. Following the suicide of a fellow Ranger, Travis became connected with a group of thru-hikers on their journey to complete the AT, and decided to hike the trail himself. What followed is a story of redemption as a single veteran learned how to love himself again through the incredibly healing power of spending time in nature.

“You’re doing 110 miles an hour every single day, in every f*cking aspect of our lives. I mean we’re squeezing every last drop out of those adrenal glands that we possibly can. And that’s not just for war… that’s for back home too.”

It is our hope that veterans and all those struggling in this life, turn to the natural world to find healing and consider walking their vehicle to access it.
